Designer Bios

Rick Miller, owner of Miller’s Fancy Bath and Kitchen, has designed thousands of kitchen and bathrooms over the past 30+ years.

Rick graduated from Ballard High School in 1975, and went on to attended U of L and Bellarmine University in Louisville. Rick has attended multiple National Kitchen and Bath Association design training and sales courses over the years. He is a graduate of Dale Carnegie courses where he met his wife of 30+ years.

Prior to graduating from high school, Rick was “strongly encouraged” by his father to work in various capacities at Miller’s Fancy Bath. From sweeping floors, to hosing the parking lot, assembling shelves, etc. He was instrumental in phasing out the plumbing part of the business and reintroducing bathroom remodeling services. As the decorative accessory part of the business became stagnant, he and his family introduced decorative kitchen cabinets to the Louisville market in 1995.

Rick and his wife, Jeana, enjoy the joy and challenges that come with raising 7 children and now 9 grandchildren. He is a man of integrity. He thoroughly enjoys working with his staff and their customers. Rick has a great attitude about life and is more concerned with his customer’s satisfaction than the almighty dollar. He greatly enjoys the outdoors including hiking, skiing, ultimate Frisbee, biking and more.

Frankee Brady thoroughly enjoys solving design problems for her clients. She does a great job of blending her ideas with her client’s wants and needs. Frankee has a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Eastern Kentucky University and an associate’s degree in Interior Design from Interior Design Institute. Frankee has been specializing in kitchen design since 1985. She was a winner of the national Sub Zero kitchen design contest 1990. During the years of 1992 to 1999 she was an instructor for IDI. She taught classes in kitchen and bath design, art history, perspective drawing and renderings. She was a member of the US design team for DuPont & Zodiaq from 1999 to 2006. Frankee is currently a member of NKBA and an associate member of ASID.

Thom Brawner has worked at Miller’s for over 17 years and has emerged as one of Louisville’s foremost bath designers. His experience runs the gamut from small economical projects to elaborate bathroom additions. He can quickly establish rapport with a variety of clients and is sensitive to client desires, but he also has a wealth of knowledge and experience to share. Thom works to build trust with clients by delivering outstanding designs, excellent products and workmanship that has resulted in many repeat clients. Thom holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Kentucky University. He majored in Interior Design and graduated summa cum laude in 1992. His projects have been featured in Signature Kitchens and Baths magazine and he has been featured in several articles in the Courier Journal newspaper over the years.

Brenda Scott has worked at Miller’s since 1996. She has a great personality and is very pleasant to work with. Brenda specializes in bathroom design. Throughout the years she has designed some beautiful bars and small kitchens as well. Her ability to pull together the various products and colors and maintain good communication with client and contractor make her a valuable asset to any design project.
